Women in Zcience

Women in Zcience

Objectives
1. Create awareness for girls in Science & Technology
2. Platform for Makers to get together - promote innovation
3. Celebrate women in science

Storyline
We have sufficient engineering female students (~30%) and entry to workforce

Challenges:
1. Upon graduation, engineering/STEM is not first choice (Hiring - awareness)
2. For those join as engineering/STEM, sustaining is key due to the progress in lifestyle, change in demographic profile (Retention & sustaining)

The purpose of this event is to serve as awareness (exposure), secondary is to follow their progress (with coachers - retention/sustaining)

Partners
This event is jointly organised by the Penang Women's Development Corporation (PWDC) and Tech Dome Penang with the support of the Astronomical Society of Penang (ASP), Intel, KDU Glenmarie, myTRIZ and Penang Youth Development Corporation.
